The European Rail Transport Policy during the German Presidency and the way forward
Lunch Meeting with State Secretary Jörg Hennerkes, Vice Minister of Transport of the German Federal Government
20 September 2007 13.00 – 14.30
Sofitel Brussels Europe, Place Jourdan 1, Brussels B-1040
Dear Colleague,
We are pleased to invite you to a European Rail Circle lunch on 20 September at 13h00 at the Sofitel Brussels Europe.
Transport was one of the key priority areas of the recent German Presidency of the EU, and a particular focus was placed on the rail sector. The German presidency achieved a number of objectives, including the finalisation of the Third Railway Package. On 20 September, our keynote speaker will be State Secretary Jörg Hennerkes, Vice Minister of Transport of the German Federal Government. As a high ranking member of the German Government, Mr. Hennerkes is particularly well suited to give an insight into the achievements of the German Presidency in regards to rail transport and to outline the steps to be pursued by succeeding presidencies.
This lunch is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the sector to debate the practical issues facing European rail policy with an expert group of high level industry stakeholders.
Please complete the attached registration form and return it by fax or e-mail as soon as possible.
I look forward to talking to you over lunch on 20 September.
Kind regards,
Prof. Dr. Klaus Milz
