Relaunching Rail Freight: The House of Rail Joint Action Plan
Lunch Meeting with Mr. Wolf Gehrmann, Secretary General, International Union of Private Wagons (UIP) and Mrs. Monika Heiming, Secretary General, European Rail Freight Association (ERFA)
18 July 2007 13.00 – 14.30
Sofitel Brussels Europe, Place Jourdan 1, Brussels B-1040
Dear Colleague,
We are pleased to invite you to a European Rail Circle lunch on 18 July at 13h00 at the Sofitel Brussels Europe.
At this meeting, Mrs. Monika Heiming, Secretary General, European Rail Freight Association and Mr. Wolf Gehrmann, Secretary General, International Union of Private Wagons, will present the House of Rail, the new alliance of 4 associations of the private rail freight sector, and its “Joint Action Plan 2007,” on revitalising the European rail freight sector.
The aim of the House of Rail, which brings together shippers, logistics providers, private railway undertakings and private wagon companies, is to help the industry take its destiny in its own hands. To this end, the House of Rail has developed a “Joint Action Plan 2007,” which contains a series of concrete proposals for action by the European Commission to overcome the abovementioned problems, and to create an environment in which the rail freight sector can prosper.
This lunch is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the sector to debate the practical issues facing European rail policy with an expert group of high level industry stakeholders.
Please complete the attached registration form and return it by fax or e-mail as soon as possible.
I look forward to talking to you over lunch on 18 July.
Kind regards,
Prof. Dr. Klaus Milz
